How to Lighten Skin Naturally

Egg whites, buttermilk, lemons, dried herbs and milk are some of the items you can use to make homemade skin lightening products.

Lemon juice normally works to lighten skin naturally and can help fade away any dark spot on your skin. Mix equal parts of water and lemon juice and apply on the dark spots and leave it on your skin for at least ten minutes and then clean it with warm water. To achieve the desired results repeat this procedure at least 3 times daily. The other proven home remedy is mixing a teaspoon of milk powder with almond oil, honey and lemon juice each a teaspoon. When the mixture is ready dap it on your face and rinse it after 15 minutes.

Another commonly used home remedy is a natural cream consisting of lemon juice and egg whites in equal parts. Heat the mixture in a saucepan until the mixture thickens, place the mixture in a low tub and store in your refrigerator. Once the mixture cools apply it on your skin and leave it for at least half an hour and then wash it with lukewarm water. To achieve best results you should use this cream daily. The other method of lightening your skin naturally is soaking a half cup of milk and a slice of lemon in it for at least 15 minutes. Remove the piece of lemon and apply the milk on your skin and leave it overnight. Wash your face thoroughly in the morning to remove all the milk.

Chamomile can also be utilized to naturally lighten your skin, simply add two teaspoons of desiccated chamomile flowers into a cup of hot water and leave the mixture for at least 10 minutes. Then remove the flowers from the concoction and add a teaspoon of honey, then dap directly on your skin, leave it for at least quarter of an hour and then clean well with lukewarm water. Tomato juice and oatmeal can also be applied to lighten your skin, mix the two and apply the mixture on your skin and leave it for at least 20 minutes and rinse thoroughly.

Other home remedies include eating a well balanced diet and avoiding oily and heavy foods as they make your skin look darker and dull. Instead eat plenty of fresh fruits, lean meat, whole grains and fresh vegetables. Drinking plenty of water is also important as it helps flush out toxins from your body thus lightening your skin. Drinking at least 8 glasses of water daily will help in brightening your skin. Direct exposure of sunlight contributes to the darkening of your skin, so try as much as possible to avoid direct sunlight exposure.
